Range:— Venezuela and the Guianas to Bolivia ( CO, LP, PA) and Brazil. Ecology:— Uncommon ; epiphytic, low on trees, rarely terrestrial, in humid forests; to 500 m. Notes:— Blades simple (undivided) or 1-pinnate with 1 or 2 lateral pinna pairs, and then easily confused with A. juglandifolium , which has up to ca. 8 pinna pairs. Used by the Bolivian Chacobó Indians to treat stomach ache ( Boom 1985).
