There are now several collections of this species from the neighboring Provinces of La Unión and Condesuyos in Department Arequipa. The collections from La Unión, unfortunately have no collector nor collection number and are housed in the herbarium of the Universidad de San Augustin in Arequipa only. It is somewhat surprising that the species appears to be disjunct between Tarapacá in northern Chile and the northern part of the Department of Arequipa in Peru, but so far no collections have emerged from the southern part of Department Arequipa nor the Departments Moquegua and Tacna.
