Type Locality: Tanzania, coast opposite Zanzibar Isl.

Vernacular Names: Least Long-fingered Bat.

Distribution: Kenya, Tanzania, Dem. Rep. Congo, Republic of Congo, São Tomé Isl.

Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (nt).

Discussion: Reviewed by Juste and Ibañez (1992), who designated a neotype for newtoni. Does not include manavi or griveaudi see Peterson et al. (1995).
