Original rank: variety of S. morsitans L., 1758. Current rank and status: synonym of S. morsitans L., 1758 ( Kraepelin 1903, Attems 1930).

Remarks: This name is a junior primary homonym of S. calcarata Porat, 1876 , proposed for a form from China. See the account of S. viridilimbata Daday, 1891 , in the previous roster for an explanation of the publication date.
