Holotype: not known to exist; type locality: Isla Santa Margarita , Baja California Sur, Mexico .
Original rank: species. Current rank and status: questionable synonym of S. viridis ( Kraepelin 1903) ; listed as an unrecognizable species by Attems (1930).
Remarks: Scolopendra microcanthus was omitted by Bücherl (1942 a, 1974) and Shelley (2002).
