Two syntypes: ( ANSP, examined); type locality: unknown .
Original rank: species. Current rank and status: synonym of S. alternans Leach, 1815 ( Kraepelin 1903, Brölemann 1909, Bücherl 1939); Attems (1930) considered S. testacea to be an unrecognizable species, but I confirm synonymy under S. alternans .
Remarks: This name was omitted by Bücherl (1942 a, 1974) and Shelley (2002).
