Pseudosmittia tropis Andersen, Saether et Mendes, 2010: 65 . Type material: Holotype male, ECUADOR: Pastaza, Puyo , Loc. 18, 950 m a.s.l., 11.ii.1997, J. Skartveit (ZMBN Type No. 427). Other material as in Andersen et al. (2010: 65).

Diagnostic characters: The species differs from other members of the genus except P. lamellatus Andersen, Saether et Mendes , and P. propetropis by having a long virga with lateral lamellae. It differs from P. lamellatus by having a large bluntly pointed crista dorsalis and a longer gonostylus with outer corner, from P. propetropis by having a more straight gonostylus.
