Genus Acromegalomma Gil and Nishi, 2017 View in CoL

Remarks. Acromegalomma is composed of 36 valid species ( Tovar-Hernández & Carrera-Parra 2011; Mikac et al. 2013; Capa & Murray 2015; Gil & Nishi, 2017). In South America tree species have been described, but only one is considered valid: M. roulei (Gravier, 1908) was described from Payta ( Peru), but currently considered incertae sedis (see details in Tovar-Hernández & Carrera-Parra 2011); M. monoculata Hartmann-Schröder, 1965 , was described from Chile but was synonymized with M. pigmentum Reish, 1963 , and M. anopthalma (Hartmann- Schröder, 1960), was synonymized with M. modestum de Quatrefages, 1866 . This latter species was described from Peru and is the only species recognized as valid. In this study, a new fouling Acromegalomma species is described from the Port of San Antonio ( Argentina) .
