Remarks. Thomson (1858) indicated the etymology of Diploschema fRom GReek: “δῐπλοῦς [= διπλόος], doubLe; σχῆμα, fIguRe.” As σχῆμα (skhêma) Is neuteR gendeR, Diploschema is neuter gender. Therefore, Thomson (1858) should have used “flavipenne” and not “flavipennis ” in the name of the type species. Blackwelder (1946) wrongly considered the genus as feminine gender. Currently, of the four known species, only Diploschema maculata Martins & Monné, 1980 (as well as its synonym, D. brunnea Martins & Monné, 1980 ) needs to be corrected because “maculata ” is feminine gender: D. maculatum ; and D. brunneum .
