Probolomyrmex bidens Brown   HNS , 1975: 56, figs. 7, 9. Holotype: worker, Palni Hills, 2150 m alt., 10 km NW of Kodaikanal , Madras State, India, 15/ix/1972, Besuchet, Lobi & Mussard ( MHNG) [not examined].

Recognition. This species is similar to P. maryatiae   HNS sp. nov. and P. vieti   HNS sp. nov., but is well distinguished from the latter by the petiolar node posterodorsally with paired teeth in the worker. Sexual forms of this species are unknown.

Distribution. Known only from the type locality.
