Type locality and specimens. Fundorte [localities]: Am Busento bei Cosenza; Sapri, Golf von Policastro; Falconara Albanese; Pignola bei Potenza.

Dimensions. Länge ohne Endbeine [length without ultimate legs] 25 mm. Breite [width] 3 mm.

Old type catalogue. Not listed .

Type status remarks. This species ist not listed in the catalogues of Weidner (1960) and Rack (1974) but 4 syntypes are documented on file cards. Zapparoli (1986) fixed the ZMH specimens as paralectotypes and the male lectotype from “ Busento bei Cosenza ” is at the NHMW.

Current systematic position. Junior synonym of Eupolybothrus (Eupolybothrus) fasciatus (Newport, 1845) according to Zapparoli (1986: 319).

A total of 301 type specimens belonging to 88 original type species or subspecies are preserved at the ZMH. Type material belonging to five additional species is lost (see section “Lost Type Material”) .
