Old type catalogue. Weidner (1960), p. 67, No. 34. Paratypes (number not specified).

Type status. Weidner (1960: 67) listed ‘paratypes’ from Wooroloo, Arrino, Gooseberry Hill, Day Dawn and Northhampton. There are additional syntypes from Jarrahdale at the ZMB (catalog no. 4625-30) .

Collection remarks. All specimens were collected by Wilhelm Michaelsen during his expedition to Western Australia 1905. Given the pronounced regional endemism in southwestern Australia ( Rix et al. 2015; Harms et al. 2019), it is possible that the present specimens belong to multipe species. Current systematic position. Cormocephalus strigosus Kraepelin, 1908 .
