Type locality and specimens. Vorkommen [Habitat]: Cilicien, Kleinasien [today Çukurova Region or Cilicia, Turkey] (von Herrn M. Holtz gesammelt [collected by Mr. M. Holtz]) .

Dimensions. ♀ 55 mm lg. [length] mit 71 Beinpaaren [leg pairs]. ♂ 32 mm lg. mit 67 Beinpaaren.

Type material. Syntypes 2 ( ZMH-A0000553 , ZMH-A0006385 ). TURKEY: Çukurova Region [ca. 36°52’N, 35°29’E] GoogleMaps .

Preservation. 1 jar: Label. Geophilus conjungens Verh , ex typis, Verhoeff v. 1.I.1899, Kleinasien.

Old type catalogue. Weidner (1960), p. 62, No. 11. Paratype.

Additional type material. There are additional specimens from “Kleinasien” at the ZMB (no. 3386, 3386a) and all listed specimens are syntypes .

Collection remarks. The type locality “Cilicien, Kleinasien” refers to the ancient Roman province Cilicia.

Additional remarks. Weidner (1960: 62) noted that the specimen was purchased from Verhoeff.

Current systematic position. Diphyonyx conjungens ( Verhoeff, 1898) ; transferred to this genus by Bonato et al. (2008: 344).
