Type locality and specimens. Vorkommen [Habitat]: Am 9. III. sammelte Herr Zachvatkin bei der Eisenbahnstation Vrevskaja, 50 km südwestlich von Taschkent, 7 Individuen in der Erde in 5–40 cm Tiefe [7 specimens were collected by Mr. Zachvatkin on 9. March near the train station Vrevskaja, 50 km sout-west of Tashkent.].

Dimensions. ♀ von 42 mm [length] mit 63 Beinpaaren [leg pairs], ♀ von 42 mm mit 65 Beinpaaren, ♂ von 58 mm mit 63 Beinpaaren, ♂ von 63 mm mit 65 Beinpaaren. Adol. [adolescent] von 34 mm mit 67 Beinpaaren.

Type material. Syntype ( ZMH-A0000579 ). UZBEKISTAN: Vrevskaja (train station) [ca. 40°58’N, 68°48’E]. Dissected body parts are stored in 2 microvials GoogleMaps .

Preservation. 1 jar: Label 1. Taschkentia armata Verh. Turkestan Eing. 1/1940; Label 2. SYNTYPE ??? Specimen used chiefly or entirely for sp.n. description is in Munich. Hamburg specimen is possibly a syntype. R. Crabill: 28.VII.1964 (Crabill handwriting) .

Old type catalogue. Rack (1971), p. 107, No. 41. 1 Expl. (as Taschkenia armata ).

Additional type material. Verhoeff listed 7 collected specimens in his description. 1♂ complete syntype from “Turkestan” (don. K.W. Verhoeff, July 1940) is held at the NHMW (no. 334). Ilie et al. (2009: 14) noted: “although being labelled only ‘Turkestan’, our material most likely belongs to the type series comprising 7 specimens collected from Uzbekistan, near the railway station Vrevskaja, 50 km SW of Taschkent, collected by A. Zachvatkin”. The ZMH specimen was not listed by Weidner (1960) but is listed in Rack (1974).

Collection remarks. The specimens were collected by Alexej Zachvatkin from the Station of Plant Protection (Station für Pflanzenschutz) in Taschkent at a soil depth of 5–40 cm.

Current systematic position. Junior synonym of Taschkentia parthorum ( Pocock, 1891) according to Crabill (1962: 509).
