Vernacular Names: Hose's Palm Civet.

Distribution: Malaysia (Sabah, Sarawak).

Conservation: IUCN – Vulnerable.

Discussion: Thomas published two accounts of the type description in 1892, one printed in August ( Thomas, 1892 a), and another printed in October ( Thomas, 1892 b). Although Pocock (1933 d) and Corbet and Hill (1992) supported Thomas (1912 d) in separating this species into Diplogale ; Chasen (1940), Medway (1977), and Payne et al. (1985) did not.
