Type material. Holotype: 1♂, White Mountains , Queensland, 144.80°E, 20.38°S, 2 Apr. 2000, P.J.M. Greenslade, (ANIC 42 001432). GoogleMaps

Etymology. The name reflects the Queensland origin of the type material and is to be treated as a noun in apposition.

Diagnosis. It differs from the type species by the shorter and wider shape of the cymbium, the presence of a large bulge on the ventral surface of the tegulum and a small hooked posterior lobe. A mottled brown pattern is found on the dorsal surface of the abdomen rather than the distinctive pattern of large dark spots on the dorsal abdomen found for F. maculata . The lateral position and the shape of the embolus (Figs 75–77) and long L3 clearly show that this is a species of Frewena .

Description. Male: Cephalothorax mid to dark orange with scattered pennate grey hairs over dorsal and lateral surfaces. Relatively longer cephalothorax with a steeper posterior slope than in F. maculatus . Integument surrounding ALE, PME and PLE dark brown with scattered grey hairs. Clypeus narrow, with a sparse grey fringe. Chelicerae not geniculate, medium brown. A single very small prolateral tooth and a single small sharp retrolateral tooth are found on the distal edge of the paturon. Endites white, grading to light brown, labium dark brown. Sternum mid-brown. Dorsal abdomen light brown, with darker, lace-like patterning. Large mid-brown sclerite-like shape apparent under the surface patterning. Spinnerets pale yellow and black. Ventral abdomen same colour as dorsal surface. Legs mid-brown, without stripes or markings. L3 much longer than remainder. Palp: brown, tibia with a single long narrow apophysis. Patella with a long dorsal fringe of long thick hairs. Tegulum very broad with a proximal lobe, a projection on the distal margin and large ventrolateral swelling. The origin of the embolus lateral, forming a tapering single anticlockwise spiral then moving distally across the surface of the cingulum. Dimensions (Holotype): CL 1.4, EFL 0.6, CW 1.1 AEW 0.9 AMEW 0.6, PEW 0.9, AL 1.3, L1 1.45 (0.7+0.4+0.35+0.3+0.2), L2 1.8 (0.65+0.35+0.25+0.25+0.3), L3 2.55 (0.95+0.55+0.4+0.3+0.35), L4 2.45 (0.8+0.45+0.5+0.35+0.35).

Female: Unknown.

Distribution and Biology. Known only from the type locality, in litter ( Fig. 60 View FIGURES 53–60 ). As a consequence, IUCN Red List Category DD. Because of its limited known range it may be at risk through climate change or habitat loss.
