PSEUDOCORINNA OKUPE SP. NOV.

Type material: Holotype: male: CAMEROON: Mt. Oku , Lake Oku, 06°15′N, 10°26′E, 3.iii.1983,

2.219 m, pitfall, Bosmans & Van Stalle (MRAC 162229).

Paratype: CAMEROON: 1 ♂: Mt. Koupé , 04°47′N, 09°43′E, 31.i.1983, 1300 m, montane forest, pitfalls, Bosmans & Van Stalle ( MRAC 162247 ) .

Diagnosis: Males of P. okupe have a slender procurved RTA, but are mainly characterized by the retrolateral appendage on the proximal part of the tegulum.

Etymology: The species name is a noun in apposition and the result of a contraction of Oku and Koupé, the two mountain areas from where this species is known.

Description: Male (holotype, MRAC 162229). Total l 4.75.

Carapace orange brown, covered by tiny warts forming a network with polygonal meshes. Carapace l: 2.35; w: 2.00. Fovea deep, clearly delimited. Sternum warted, l: 1.15; w: 1.30. Abdomen greyish yellow, with a large, yellow-brown dorsal scutum covering 80% of do abdominal surface area.

Legs orange, covered by fine warts.

Leg spination: fe: I pl 0-0-2; ti: I ve 2-2-2-2-2-2-2; II ve 2-2-2-2-2-2-2; III ve 0-2-0; IV plv 0-1-0; mt: I ve 2-2-2-2; II ve 2-2-2-2; III pl 0-1-0 ve 0-2-1; IV rl 1-0-0 ve 1-0-2.

Male palp ( Fig. 31A, B ): RTA broad at base, tapered and slightly curved down, with sharp tip. PTA medium sized with rounded tip. Embolus with broad curved basal part and fairly short, curved, thin, distal part. MA cup-shaped. FC small, with thin distal part. Proximal part of tegulum with large retrolateral concavity, one side of it forming short, blunt apophysis. CAPT large, parallel sided with rounded tip. PAPT large, with slightly tapered, rounded tip.

Female unknown.

Known geographical distribution: Cameroon ( Fig. 40 ).
