Diagnosis: Males of P. catharinae are characterized by the short bifid RTA, the large cup-shaped MA, and the FC with twisted extremity. Females are recognized by the series of three wide, shallow folds along the frontal margin of the epigyne and the shallow, circular, central impression in front of its posterior margin.

Etymology: The species name is a patronym in honour of the biologist Katrien Bosselaers MSc, daughter of the second author.
