3. Hypogeophis Peters, 1879

Type species: Coecilia rostrata Cuvier, 1829 by subsequent designation of Parker ( 1958).

Diagnosis: The only indotyphlids with eyes not covered by bone, tentacular grooves covered by bone, and mesethmoid not massively exposed between frontals.

Distribution: Seychelles.

Content: Two species ( brevis , rostratus ).
