Meroplius Rondani, 1874: 175 View in CoL . Gender: masculine. Type-species: Nemopoda stercoraria Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 [= Sepsis minuta Wiedemann, 1830 View in CoL ], by original designation.

Parameroplius Duda, 1920: 37 (as Meroplius View in CoL subgen.). Gender: masculine. Type species: Sepsis fasciculata Brunetti, 1910 , by monotypy.

Diagnosis. Head with fronto-orbital, outer and inner vertical setae, also with 1 vibrissa only (sometimes small). Antennal

arista bare. Thorax without postmetacoxal bridge: posteroventral area of thorax posterior and dorsal to hind coxae

(between metepimera) membranous. Fore coxa without an osmeterium. Mid coxa bare, without strong seta in dorsal 1/2.

Male fore femur with 2 black spines posteriorly ( Figs 1, 2 View FIGURES 1–2 , 9, 10 View FIGURES 9–13 ). Male hind tibia with an osmeterium anterodorsally.

Wing with bm and br cells unfused, without black macula near apex of vein R2+3. Male abdominal sternite 4 modified
