Description. Body length (from apex of vertex to tip of forewings): 3 4.4–4.6 mm, Ƥ 5.1–5.3 mm; forewing length: 3 3.5–3.6 mm, Ƥ 4.1–4.3 mm

Coloration. Vertex ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 19 – 27 ) brown with pale brown stripe in midline and two oval dark brown marks near posterior margin. Eyes brown. Frons ( Fig. 20 View FIGURES 19 – 27 ) dark brown, with pale brown verrucae near lateral margin. Clypeus brown with dark brown stripes. Rostrum brown. Antenna dark brown. Pro- and mesonotum ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 19 – 27 ) brown, with scattered dark brown spots. Forewings brown with dark brown marks, hind wings dark brown. Legs brown with dark brown stripes or spots. Abdomen ventrally brown.

Head and thorax. Vertex ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 19 – 27 ) pentagonal, 1.7 times wider than long in midline. Frons ( Fig. 20 View FIGURES 19 – 27 ) with median carina, 1.5 times wider than long in midline. Pronotum ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 19 – 27 ) without median carina, with small pit beyond each side of middle line. Scutellum ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 19 – 27 ) with weak median carina, tumid in middle. Forewing ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 19 – 27 ) 2.4 times longer than widest part, broadening distally, costal margin convex, apical margin convextruncate, Sc and R convergent near base, each reaching to margin. M bifurcate 1/3 near base, MA bifurcate 1/ 3 near apex, MP simple, Cu bifurcate in distal part, subapical margin veins distinct. Hind wings ( Fig. 22 View FIGURES 19 – 27 ) trilobed, veins simple. Hind tibiae with two teeth near apex. Spinal formula of hind leg 10–10–2.

Male genitalia. Anal segment ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 19 – 27 ) in dorsal view subtriangular, 2.5 times longer than widest part, slightly expanding distally, apical margin concave in middle, lateral margins concave near middle, anal foramen near base. Pygofer ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 19 – 27 ) in lateral view, front and hind margins concave in middle. Aedeagus ( Figs 25, 26 View FIGURES 19 – 27 ) shallowly U-shaped in lateral view, dorsal lobe apically with median process and lateral lobes apically reflexed; pair of long spines (about 3.8 times longer than median process of dorsal lobe), tapering apically, directed cephalad. Phallus with pair of long stout hooks arising in distal half, acutely tapering apically, directed ventrocephalad below aedeagus. Apical margin of ventral lobe concave in middle. Genital styles ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 19 – 27 ) in lateral view boot-shaped, with obtusely convex in lateral margin.

Type material. Holotype: 3, Dali, Yunnan Province, China, 4 Aug. 2006, Z.-G. Zhang. Paratypes: 4 3, 7 Ƥ, Baoshan, Yunnan Province, China, 8–20 Aug. 2006, P. Zhang, Z.-G. Zhang and Q.-Z. Song; 2 3, 3 Ƥ, Gaoligong Mountain, Yunnan Province, China, 28 May 2009, Z.-H. Yang ( IEGU).

Etymology. The specific name refers to the aedeagus apically with a pair of long spines.

Host plant. Unknown.

Distribution. China (Yunnan) ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 ).

Remarks. This new species is similar to K. bicinctifrons Fennah, 1956 and K. macheta sp. nov. in external morphology, but differs in: (i) vertex 1.7 times wider than long (1.9 times in K. bicinctifrons ; 2.3 times in K. macheta ); (ii) anal segment ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 19 – 27 ) in dorsal view subtriangular, 2.5 times longer than widest part, slightly expanding distally, apical margin concave in middle, lateral margins concave near middle (anal segment oval in K. macheta ); (iii) aedeagus ( Figs 25, 26 View FIGURES 19 – 27 ) in lateral view, dorsal lobe apically with a median process and lateral lobes apically reflexed, a pair of long spines (about 3.8 times longer than median process of dorsal lobe), tapering apically, directed cephalad (the apical spines of lateral lobes of aedeagus about 1.0 times longer than median process of dorsal lobe in K. bicinctifrons ); (iv) spinal formula of hind leg 10–10–2 (9–11– 2 in K. bicinctifrons ; 12–10– 2 in K. macheta ).
