Lectotype (Ghafoor in Jafri & El-Gadi, Fl. Libya 63: 85. 1978): Herb. Linn. No. 582.13 ( LINN) .

Current name: Silene italica (L.) Pers. subsp. italica View in CoL ( Caryophyllaceae ).

Note: Greuter (in Willdenowia 25: 109. 1995) states that the designated lectotype does not fit the current application of S. italica L. subsp. italica , and that a proposal for a conserved type will be necessary. However, no formal proposal has yet been published.
