Description. Adult ♀ ( Fig. 13): forewing length 9–10 mm. Hyaline area of wings creamy, variably irrorated with yellowish-brown and dark brown; basal and medial fascia in fore- and hindwing poorly defined or absent; costa of forewing yellowish-brown irrorated with brown; evident discal spot on forewing grey or light brown, black-ringed; smaller discal spot on hindwings grey, black-ringed. Non-hyaline terminal area of fore- and hindwings brown and yellow, irrorated with black between M1 and M3, internally dentate and black-bordered. Termen yellowish-brown regularly black-spotted.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 56). Sterigma asymmetrical, posterior part with a short stout digitate process medially. The lateral parts of the posterior margin of lamella postvaginalis indented, the right side longer than the left one. Corpus bursae sclerotized at the right side in the posterior part, the single signum round and stellate.

Differential diagnosis. Female genitalia differ from those of Z. amicta Prout, 1915 in the shape of corpus bursae and signum.

Genetic data. BIN: BOLD: AAA9760 (n=5 from Ethiopia, n=6 from Kenya, Zimbabwe; maximum variation 2.9%). Minimum pairwise distance between Ethiopian and Kenyan populations 1.0 %. Kenyan populations at a genetic distance of 0.7–1.3 % from the holotype of Z. vintejouxi ( Rwanda, see remarks) .

Distribution. Ethiopia, Nigeria, Uganda, Zambia ( Fletcher 1974; Herbulot 1989). New for Kenya and Zimbabwe.

Remarks. Z. vintejouxi described from Rwanda by Herbulot (1989), very similar to Z. chrysothyra . The DNA of the holotype of Z. vintejouxi is BIN-sharing with our Ethiopian populations of Z. chrysothyra , but diverging by 2.2 % from the latter, hence species rank for both taxa is tentatively accepted here. This is confirmed by the geni- talia of the holotype of Z. vintejouxi (slide ZSM G 16424 View Materials ) showing a broader medial projection of the dorsal valva process, which is laterally more dentate, fulcrum less spinose at tip.
