Description of Humibacillus xanthopallidu mNW13

Cells are flagellated and rod-shaped. Colonies are circular and orangecolored after 5 days on minimal medium at 25℃. Positive reactions are obtained for glucose fermentation, urease, esculin hydrolysis and β-galactosidase in API 20NE, and negative reactions are obtained for nitrate reduction, indole production, arginine dihydrolase and gelatinase. Dmannose, Dmannitol, Dmaltose and malic acid are utilized. Does not utilize Dglucose, Larabinose, N acetylglucosamine, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, trisodium citrate and phenylacetic acid. Strain mNW13 (= NIBR BA0000113978 View Materials ) was isolated from a forest soil sample, Gwanak Mountain , Seoul, Korea.
