( Figs. 11 View Fig , 19–20 View Figs )

Types. Holotype male, China. Tibet, Mêdog (29.2 8 N, 95.3 8 E), July 1984. Deposited in the Institute of Zoology , The Chinese Academy of Sciences , P. R. China.

Description. Form: Elongate ( Fig. 11 View Fig ), Length: 11.0 mm (measured from the apex of the clypeus to the apex of the elytra); width: 6.0 mm (measured at base of the elytra) (Fig. 10). Color: Metallic dark-green; clypeus, two basal segments of antennae and elytra yellowish-brown; abdomen reddish-brown. Head: Deeply inserted in prothorax, with fine punctures and yellow pubescence. Clypeus short, with dense pubescence; coronal suture distinct. Eyes elliptical; dorsoventral eye length ¼ 0.88 mm; interocular distance (at dorso-mesal margins) ¼ 1.64 mm; Outer surface of mandible with coarse and dense punctures and slightly dense pubescence. Antennae slender, segment (1–11) length in millimeters 0.56, 0.08, 0.48, 0.40, 0.32, 0.40, 0.40, 0.40, 0.40, 0.40, 0.48. Pronotum: Length at middle ¼ 6.0 mm, width at middle ¼ 4.0 mm; laterally rounded before middle; anterior margin widely emarginate, with protruding anterior angles; disc with central area slightly convex; lateral margin deeply depressed, with a deep longitudinal depression on each side, extending from basal margin to middle with deep punctures in depressions. Scutellum: Impunctate , triangular with apex rounded. Elytra: Length ¼ 12.0 mm, width (at middle) ¼ 6.5 mm. Convex, with five rows of larger punctures, and scattered fine punctures between them. Underside: Shiny, with dense pubescent, almost impunctate except mesosternum with fine punctures; meta-episternum with dense and coarse punctures. Epipleural inner margin with row of setae. Median lobe: Rounded apically in ventral view, in lateral view, long and slender, narrower towards towards apex ( Figs. 19, 20 View Figs ).

Diagnosis. This new species is similar to Agrosteomela indica (Hope) , but can be distinguished easily by the coronal suture, the fine punctures between the elytral striae, and shape of the aedeagus.

Distribution. Tibet.

Etymology. From the Latin, flavipennis , meaning yellow wings.
