Type species. Kolacarus bambusae Boczek in Boczek & Chandrapatya, 1998a: 135–136.
Diagnosis. Body fusiform; female genitalia appressed to coxae, coverflap with two rows of ridges; scapular tubercles and setae absent; antaxial genual seta (l’’) on leg II absent.
This genus is monotypic ( Amrine et al. 2003).
