Type species. Jaranasia anamensiae Chandrapatya & Boczek, 2000b: 148 , 149–150.
Diagnosis. Body fusiform; empodium entire; scapular setae (sc) absent, prodorsal shield with a blunt lobe; coxae I and coxae II each with 3 setae; opisthosoma annuli subequal dorsoventrally.
This genus is monotypic ( Amrine et al. 2003).
