Hyposoter tenuicosta ( Thomson, 1887)

Anilasta tenuicosta Thomson, 1887 : lectotype ♁ in MZLU, designated by Aubert (1972), examined by Horstmann.

The lectotype is one of three males from Sweden in the Thomson collection in Lund. The female remains unknown: although Thomson had seen female specimens from Switzerland in Dr. Kriechbaumer’s collection which he attributed to this species, this material, according to Horstmann’s notes, has disappeared.

We have not seen material of this species. Its biology is unknown. In addition to Sweden and perhaps Switzerland, it has been reported from Czechoslovakia and Romania, though the identifications in the latter two cases are certainly unreliable.
