Type material. Holotype ♀ (SWUC-T-AM-13-01), CHINA, Sichuan, Gyaisi (Jiulong) County, 29°00.323′N 101°30.324′E, 2899 m, 1.VI.2019, L.Y. Wang, T. Yuan and P. Liu GoogleMaps . Paratypes: 3 ♀ (SWUC-T-AM-13-02~04), with same data as holotype GoogleMaps .

Etymology. The specific name is derived from the type locality, adjective in apposition.

Diagnosis. The new species differs from all other Taira species by the following characters: epigynal teeth large and earlobe-shaped, covering most of the lateral portion of epigynal median lobe ( Figs 7A View FIGURE 7 , 8B View FIGURE 8 ); and distance between two spermathecae less than the diameter of the spermathecae ( Figs 7B View FIGURE 7 , 8C View FIGURE 8 ).

Description. Female. Total length 8.82–9.61. Holotype ( Fig. 8A View FIGURE 8 ) total length 8.92. Carapace 4.44 long, 3.08 wide; opisthosoma 5.18 long, 3.87 wide. Eye size and interdistances: AME 0.14, ALE 0.20, PME 0.15, PLE 0.18; AME–AME 0.13, AME–ALE 0.21, PME–PME 0.23, PME–PLE 0.37, ALE–PLE 0.10. MOA 0.67 long, front width 0.42, base width 0.59. Clypeus height 0.22. Chelicerae with 4 promarginal and 3 retromarginal teeth. Leg measurements: I 12.22 (3.53, 4.28, 2.70, 1.71); II 9.56 (2.87, 3.30, 1.95, 1.44); III 8.79 (2.87, 2.85, 1.82, 1.25); IV 10.84 (3.17, 3.75, 2.47, 1.44).

Epigyne ( Figs 7A, B View FIGURE 7 , 8B, C View FIGURE 8 ) with a papiliform median lobe. Epigynal teeth, earlobed-shaped, almost covering lateral portion of median lobe. Spermathecae reniform. Fertilization ducts curved retrolaterally, and far apart from each other.

Male unknown.

Distribution. Known only from the type locality, Sichuan, China ( Fig. 24 View FIGURE 24 ).
