. Holotype M: [Hospice civil], Cayenne, [ Island of Cayenne ], French Guiana ( MNHP *); coll. G. Senevet; 3 Aug. 1934; no. G.116.

Culex tisseuli was synonymized with Cx. mollis Dyar & Knab by Bram (1967: 80). The holotype of Cx. tisseuli , originally deposited in the LPFM, was transferred to the FMP ( Belkin 1968: 21) and found in the MNHP by Dégallier & Claustre (1980: 144).
