Holotype M: Saut Canori, [ Approuague River ], French Guiana ( IPP *); coll. E. Abonnenc; 13 Feb. 1944; no. 704.

The holotype of An. canorii was originally deposited in the IPP and examined there by Belkin (1968: 9), but was not seen by Harrison (1973: 279). The holotype was found in the general collection of the IPP during this study.
