Holotype M: [Poste de] Saut Tigre, [ Sinnamary River ], French Guiana ( MNHP *); coll. G. Senevet and E. Abonnenc; 24 Oct. 1937; no. G.895.
The holotype of Cx. breviculus , originally deposited in the LPFM, was transferred to the FMP ( Belkin 1968: 14) and found in the MNHP by Dégallier & Claustre (1980: 144).
