Diagnosis (male). Costa swollen especially at R 1 insertion, short (0.34 of the wing length) ( Fig. 14G View FIGURE 14 ); anepisternum dorsally setulose.

Description. Male. Body length 1.6 mm. Head. Frons dark brown, sparsely setulose, with well-defined median furrow. Flagellomere 1 light brown, conical. Arista apical, 1.5 times longer than flagellomere 1. Palpus light brown. Gena with two setae. Thorax. Scutum, scutellum, and pleural regions brown; anepisternum dorsally setulose. Legs yellowish-brown. Foretibia with two dorsal setae and anterodorsal row of strong setulae. Foremetatarsus with anterior excavation, anteroapical setulose process with row of four strong setulae at its base and strong longer curved setula, base of excavation with group of setulae and a longer stronger seta ( Fig. 8S View FIGURE 8 ). Foremetatarsus ratio 0.36. Posteroventral face of hind femur with broad band of tiny blunt setulae, dorsal setulae thicker ( Fig. 19K View FIGURE 19 ). Hind femur height/length ratio 0.32. Hind tibia with one dorsal seta in basal half. Wing ( Fig. 14G View FIGURE 14 ). Costa swollen, especially at R 1 insertion, 0.34 of the wing length; R 2+3 absent; M 1 slightly concave, curved posteriorly at apex; M 2 approximately sinuous, CuA 1 -M 2 /M 2 -M 1 ratio 0.83; CuA 1 sinuous. Halter white. Abdomen. Tergites dark brown. Hypopygium light brown. Left epandrial process short, with a dorsoapical lobe and a subepandrial setose elevation near hypoproct. Margin of right lobe of hypandrium without lateral projection. Two setae on hypoproct ( Fig. 24T View FIGURE 24 ).

Distribution. Known from a single low-elevation site in Western Brazil.

Etymology. Name derived from the Latin word inflatus (swollen), referring to the costa swelling at R 1 insertion.
