Discussion: Distinct from Kerivoula . Koopman (1982, 1993, 1994) and Ryan (1965) considered Phoniscus to be congeneric with Kerivoula , but see Hill (1965) and Corbet and Hill (1980, 1992). Characters separating these genera were summarized by Corbet and Hill (1992).
