Arius acutirostris ZBK Day, 1877: 459, pl. 107 (fig. 1). Type locality: Salwein River at Moulmein, Myanmar. Syntypes: BMNH 1870.6.14.34 ; NMW 44358 , 48327 ; ZMB 2735 , F454 , F500 , A569 .

Distribution: South and southeast Asia.

Countries: Myanmar.

Habitat: Mostly in brackish waters.

Maximum size: 305 mm TL.
