Etymology. The new species-group name is an adjective. This name is after its type locality, Madagascar ( Cressey 1966).
Type series. Holotype female ( USNM 113048) and four paratype females ( USNM 113049) in alcohol, originally deposited in the United States National Museum ( Cressey 1966) and currently housed in the Department of Invertebrate Zoology, Museum Support Center, Smithsonian Institution, Suitland, Maryland, USA.
Remarks. The morphological description and illustrations were presented in Cressey (1966).
