Type specimen. ɗ holotype ( NMNH) collected by H. Hoogstraal, 23 May 1941, at Cerro Tancitaro, Michoacan, Mexico.

Potential diagnostic features. The uniquely configured ag coxal processes and the ultra-complex pgs with relatively sublinear branches.

Habitat. According to the vial label, the holotype was encountered "under lava."

Distribution. Known only from the type locality.

Remarks. The species name was misspelled as " phlobius " by Hoffman (1999) and Bueno-Villegas et al. (2004).
