Distribution. Western Atlantic – Bermuda, North Carolina, Florida, Gulf of Mexico, Antilles, and Brazil (from Piauí to Santa Catarina) ( Melo 1996).

Ecological notes. On sand, shell, rock, and coral bottoms. From shallow waters to 90 m ( Melo 1996).
