Description. Male ( Fig. 3A View FIGURE 3 ). Total body length 5.5 mm (n = 7).

Head. Black in ground color, fronto-orbital, parafacial, and postocular plates with golden microtomentum. Occiput blackish with silvery microtomentum. First two rows of occipital setulae black, others yellow or white. Frons about 0.9x head width at level of ocellar triangle. Frontal vitta blackish; frons with a row of 10–12 frontal setae. Inner vertical seta 3x as long as postocular setae. Outer vertical seta equal in length to postocular setae. Ocellar setae longer than the adjacent setae, equal in length to uppermost frontal seta. One reclinate fronto-orbital seta, as long as the longest frontal setae. Proclinate seta absent. Gena and postgena with silvery and golden microtomentum, and black setulae. Face with silvery microtomentum. Pedicel dark brown. First flagellomere dark brown with pale golden microtomentum, 3x as long as pedicel. Arista dark brown with the middle portion lighter and long plumose on proximal 2/3. Palpus dark brown.

Thorax. Black in ground color, entirely covered in golden microtomentum, interrupted by three longitudinal equibroad black vittae. Chaetotaxy: acrostichals 0 + 1, dorsocentrals 3 + 4 (anterior one shorter), intra-alars 2 + 2, supra-alars 2 + 3, postalars 2, postpronotals 3, notopleurals 4 (2 long primaries and 2 shorter subprimaries), katepisternals 3 (middle one shorter and inserted slightly below the imaginary line connecting the other two), meropleurals 8, postalar wall with black setulae. Scutellum with two pairs of marginal setae, one pair of subapical setae, no apical and discal setae. Prosternum with a few setulae along its entire edge. Wing. Hyaline, tegula black, vein R1 bare, vein R4+5 setulose along proximal 3/4 of distance to crossvein r-m, costal spine distinct, short; third costal sector without ventral setulae. Legs. Dark brownish. Fore femur with one posterodorsal row of setae and one posteroventral row of setae. Fore tibia with two anterodorsal setae and one posterior seta. Mid femur with two ventral rows of long setae, one antero-medial row of setae, two pre-apical posterodorsal setae, and a posteroventral ctenidium of flattened, spine-like setae. Mid tibia with one anterodorsal seta, one posterodorsal seta, three dorsal preapical setae, and one long ventral seta. Hind femur with one dorsal row of long setae, one posteroventral row of short setae, and two posterodorsal setae. Hind tibia with two anteroventral setae, three anterodorsal setae, one dorsal preapical seta, and one posterodorsal seta. Tarsomeres of all legs ventrally with short golden setae.

Abdomen. Black with golden and silvery microtomentum. Syntergite 1+2 and tergite 3 with one dorsal silvery spot and one lateral golden spot. Tergites 4–5 with one dorsal and one lateral golden spots. Syntergite 1+2 and tergites 3–4 each with one lateral marginal seta. Tergite 4 with one pair of medial marginal setae. Tergite 5 with an uninterrupted row of several marginal setae (about 20 marginal strong setae). Sternites 2–4 brownish with scattered setae.

Terminalia ( Fig. 3B −G View FIGURE 3 ). Posterior margin of sternite 5 with a deep cleft; inner margin of each side of the cleft slightly expanded, making the cleft narrow, with parallel sides. Syntergosternite 7+8 yellowish with golden microtomentum, scattered short black setulae, and 3 strong marginal setae. Epandrium yellowish with golden microtomentum and black setulae. Posterior margin of cercus slightly sinuous in lateral view. Cercal prong narrow, with a dark and pointed apex. Inner margins of cercal prongs almost parallel in posterior view. Cerci and surstyli covered with short, yellowish setulae. Surstylus triangular, with a few sparse marginal short black setulae. Pregonite elongated, half the length of the phallus, broader and of lighter color than the postgonite, almost straight, and with a rounded apex. Postgonite dark brown, slender, slightly curved, with a rounded apex. Phallus with a desclerotized band between basi- and distiphallus. Paraphallus antero-proximally with a lateral triangular extension above the vesica. Distiphallus inflorescence-shaped, with the distal portion of membranous appearance. Distal margin of juxta of membranous appearance, serrated anteriorly, and slightly folded inwards. Vesica large and sclerotized, dark brown, oblong, with a serrated dorsal edge. Acrophallus with a short median process and two lateral styli ( Figs. 3E −G View FIGURE 3 ). Capitis circular.

Female unknown.

Distribution. NEOTROPICAL—Colombia (Antioquia).

Etymology. The specific epithet is a noun in apposition and refers to the shape of the phallus, which is similar to the inflorescence (spadix) of Zantedeschia aethiopica , a southern African aroid plant commonly known as calla lily or arum lily and a widespread ornamental. From the Latin lilium (= lily) and arum (= aroid plant).

Remarks. Oxysarcodexia liliarum sp. n. resembles O. favorabilis and O. mineirensis in its male genitalia, especially for the inflorescence-shaped phallus and the distally enlarged juxta. Oxysarcodexia liliarum sp. n. is considered as belonging to the “ Xarcophaga group” because of its enlarged juxta.
