Lectotype (Jonsell & Jarvis in Jarvis & al., Regnum Veg. 127: 72. 1993): Herb. Burser XX: 26 ( UPS) .

Generitype of Osmunda Linnaeus (vide Leman, Dict. Sci. Nat. 37: 9. 1825; Smith, Hist. File.: 359. 1875).

Current name: Osmunda regalis L. View in CoL View at ENA ( Osmundaceae ).

Note: Schelpe & Anthony (in Leistner, Fl. Southern Africa, Pteridophyta: 43.1986) indicated a Rolander specimen from Småland as lectotype. As pointed out by Jonsell & Jarvis (in Nordic J. Bot. 14: 148. 1994), it is a post-1753 specimen and ineligible as lectotype.
