Nerocila hemirhamphusi Shyamasundari, Rao & Kumari, 1990: 75–77 View in CoL , figs 1, 2.

Type and type locality. Shyamasundari et al. (1990) stated that the type specimen of Nerocila hemirhamphusi Shyamasundari, Rao & Kumari, 1990 recorded from the Waltair Coast, Andhra Pradesh, India, from Hemiramphus far (Forsskål, 1775) . Whereabouts the type material for these species remains unknown.

Remarks. The original description of Nerocila hemirhamphusi is brief and the only illustrations of this species provided by Shyamasundari et al. (1990) show a ventral view of the frontal lamina, the basis of pereopod 7, the pleotelson and uropods. Shyamasundari et al. (1990) stated that “...second coxal plate is small, not extending beyond the posterior border of the segment, the seventh reaches the tip of the first pleon segment and the dorsal surface i3 minutely pitted and the entire body is steel blue in colour”. Shyamasundari et al ’s. (1990) description and drawings of N. hemirhamphusi are similar to the original description and neotype illustrations of N. exocoeti ( Pillai 1954; Trilles et al. 2013; Aneesh et al. 2017c). Shyamasundari et al. (1990) did not clearly state where the type material of N. hemirhamphusi is deposited but indicated that it was part of a collection made available to him from the Zoological Survey of India. Attempts to contact the Zoological Survey of India and to obtain this material or determine the whereabouts of the holotype have been unsuccessful. Until the specimens can be located and redescribed, N. hemirhamphusi is regarded as species inquirenda.
