Type material examined Paratype female (on slide, BMNH): INDIA, Kerala, Periyar Animal Sanctuary , 5–15.x.1979, J.S. Noyes .

Diagnosis

Member of the orientale species group. FEMALE. This species is characterized by a long antenna ( Fig. 56 View FIGURES 56, 57 ), the forewing ( Fig. 37 View FIGURES 37–40 ) with only one (apical) brown spot and a faint infumation in the middle of the blade, short "V"-shaped submedial carinae on the propodeum ( Fig. 57 View FIGURES 56, 57 ), and a long ovipositor which is markedly exserted beyond the gastral apex (by about 1/5 of the total length of the ovipositor).
