Mutilla aeruginosa Smith , 1879.12.31: 207; ♂.

This taxon was described from more than one male specimen collected at “Moreton Bay” (collector/s unspecified) and in NHMUK (p. i). There are two male specimens so identified in that collection; they have appropriate and identical collecting data (accession 58–124: Australia, Moreton Bay; coll. Edward Damel; bought of S.Stevens) and agree with the description. These are evidently syntypes and I hereby designate one the lectotype. It bears the following labels: “Lecto- / type” [circular, violet margin, typeset]; “Type” [circular, red margin, typeset]; “58 / 124 [handwritten] // More / ton B” [circular blue label, handwritten, almost indecipherable]; “ Mutilla / aeruginosa / (Type) Sm[ith].” [Smith’s handwriting]; “B.M.TYPE / HYM. [typeset] / 15-631 [handwritten, blue ink]; “= ignita / Smith” [handwritten]; “ LECTOTYPE / Mutilla aeruginosa ♂ / Smith 1879 / det. D.J.Brothers 1981” [my handwriting]. GoogleMaps The other specimen has been labelled as a paralectotype. The type locality ( Moreton Bay ) is the region of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia (approximately 27°15' S, 153°15' E) GoogleMaps .

This species is currently placed in the genus Aglaotilla Brothers, 2018 .
