Type data. E. impar : ex Echymipera kalubu cockerelli (syn. Echymipera cockerelli ), Peroryctes raffrayana , Paramelomys moncktoni (syn. Melomys moncktoni ), Melomys rufescens (syn. Melomys stalkeri ), Paramelomys rubex (syn. Melomys rubex ), and Rattus leucopus (syn. Rattus ringens ), New Guinea, Bulolo ( Papua New Guinea, Morobe Province, Bulolo); E. asonluca : ex Tupaia tana , Malaysia, Sarawak State, Kuching, Fifth Mile, Stapok Road.

Hosts. RODENTIA : Apomys sp., Bullimus bagobus , Hydromys chrysogaster , Leopoldamys edwardsi , Maxomys surifer , Melomys rufescens , Menetes berdmorei , Paramelomys moncktoni , P. rubex , Rattus everetti , R. exulans , R. leucopus , R. nitidus , R. sordidus , R. tanezumi , R. rattus ; CHIROPTERA : Kerivoula hardwickii ; PERAMELEMORPHIA: Echymipera kalubu , E. kalubu cockerelli , Peroryctes raffrayana ; ERINACEOMORPHA : Echinosorex gymnurus , Hylomys suillus ; SCANDENTIA : Ptilocercus lowii , Tupaia glis , T. minor , T. tana .

Distribution. Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam.

Remarks. This species was considered as a synonym of W. oudemansi by Wharton & Fuller (1952) and Womersley (1952).
