Type data. E. impar : ex Echymipera kalubu cockerelli (syn. Echymipera cockerelli ), Peroryctes raffrayana , Paramelomys moncktoni (syn. Melomys moncktoni ), Melomys rufescens (syn. Melomys stalkeri ), Paramelomys rubex (syn. Melomys rubex ), and Rattus leucopus (syn. Rattus ringens ), New Guinea, Bulolo ( Papua New Guinea, Morobe Province, Bulolo); E. asonluca : ex Tupaia tana , Malaysia, Sarawak State, Kuching, Fifth Mile, Stapok Road.

Hosts. Distribution. Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam.

Remarks. This species was considered as a synonym of W. oudemansi by Wharton & Fuller (1952) and Womersley (1952).
