Type data. T. vandersandei : ex man, Dutch New Guinea ( Indonesia, West Papua Province); S. blestowe i: ex man, Papua New Guinea, Sepik District, Suein River; S. blestowei var. megapodius : ex Megapodius reinwardt (syn. Megapodius duperreyi ), Papua New Guinea, Sepik District, Suein River.

Hosts. RODENTIA : Rattus exulans , R. leucopus , R. sordidus ; SCANDENTIA : Tupaia glis ; CARNIVORA : Canis lupus familiaris , Felis catus ; PERAMELEMORPHIA : Echymipera kalubu ; PRIMATES : Homo sapiens ; AVES: Megapodius reinwardt .

Distribution. Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Solomon Islands.

Remarks. Schoengastia yeomansi Gunther, 1938 (nomen nudum) was properly described as S. blestowei Gunther, 1939 ; this species should not be mixed with Neoschoengastia yeomansi Gunther, 1939 (syn. Neoschoengastia jamesi Gunther, 1938 , nomen nudum).
