Type data. Ex Rattus rattus , Indonesia, W Java Is., Garoet .

Hosts. RODENTIA : Bandicota bengalensis , Callosciurus notatus , Dremomys everetti , Hydromys chrysogaster , Leopoldamys sabanus , Maxomys alticola , M. rajah , M. whiteheadi , Millardia meltada , Niviventer niviventer , Rattus exulans , R. leucopus , R. nitidus , R. rattus , R. sordidus , R. tanezumi , Sundamys muelleri ; SCANDENTIA : Tupaia glis .

Distribution. Burma, Ceylon, Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Thailand, Vietnam.

Remarks. Vercammen-Grandjean (1971), on the basis of an examination of the type series, came to the conclusion that Schoengastiella disparunguis Oudemans, 1929 is identical to Walchia pingue Gater, 1932 , while the materials identified as Gahrliepia (Walchia) disparunguis disparunguis by Traub & Evans (1957) represent a separate species, which was described by him as Walchia (Walchia) fulleri (see below). Thus, some part of the above records can be attributed to W. fulleri .
