Type deposition. W. caobangensis: ZMMU Tdt 3175 (syntypes); W. recurvata: ZSM.

Type data. W. caobangensis: Ex Hipposideros armiger , North Vietnam; W. recurvata : ex Pipistrellus pipistrellus and Hipposideros larvatus poutensis (syn. Hipposideros poutensis ), China, Kwangtung (Guangdong) Province, Mapa, Kukong.

Hosts. CHIROPTERA : Hipposideros armiger , H. bicolor , H. cervinus , H. diadema , H. larvatus , H. larvatus poutensis , Kerivoula hardwickii , Pipistrellus pipistrellus , Rhinolophus affinis .

Distribution. China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam.

Remarks. Whartonia recurvata was synonymized with W. caobangensis by Domrow (1962c), but Vercammen-Grandjean (1968) listed the former as a separate species.
