Type material examined. AUSTRALIA, Western Australia: ♂ holotype, Nannup, 33°58'43'' S, 115°45'52'' E [- 33.978, 115.764], 7 January 1987, J. Waldock, WAMP 88/30.

Additional material examined. AUSTRALIA, Western Australia: 1♂, Donnelly River, near pool at Wheatley, 34°6'8'' S, 115°58'46'' E [-34.102, 115.979], 14 April 1987, J. Waldock, WAMP 88/2140.

Etymology. Latin adjective occidentalis = western, due to its distribution in Western Australia.

Diagnosis. Male palpal femur with hook-like apophysis ( Figs 46, 48 View FIGURES 39 – 48 ), embolus not pointed, wider than in P. nasalis ( Figs 47–48 View FIGURES 39 – 48 ), pars pendula not visible.

Description. Male holotype ( Figs 39–48 View FIGURES 39 – 48 ). Cephalothorax brown, eye field slightly darker ( Fig. 39 View FIGURES 39 – 48 ). Abdomen dark-grey, with pale patches. Spinnerets grey. Clypeus brown; chelicerae lighter ( Fig. 42 View FIGURES 39 – 48 ). Maxillae and labium brown ( Fig. 43 View FIGURES 39 – 48 ); sternum dirty-brown; venter grey ( Fig. 40 View FIGURES 39 – 48 ). First legs light-brown; others lighter, with dark rings. Leg formula: 1-4-2-3. Palp as in Figs 44–48 View FIGURES 39 – 48 . Dimensions: CL 1.73, CW 1.17, CH 0.49, AL 1.46 AW 0.93, AEW 0.91, PEW 0.84, EFL 0.68, ClypH 0.01, DAM 0.27, L1 3.47 (0.97 + 0.66 + 0 89 + 0.63 + 0.32), L2 2.62 (0.79 + 0.49 + 0.59 + 0.46 + 0.29), L3 2.53 (0.80 + 0.38 + 0.54 + 0.55 + 0.26), L4 3.32 (1.00 + 0.50 + 0.81 + 0.72 +0.29).
