Habitat (as in Indian records). Freshwater; among algae and other aquatic plants.
Distribution. Known only from India.
Remarks. A key trait of the subgenus Zonochaeta is the presence of a (transverse) row of strong spines at mid trunk. C. sextospinosus is the only species to bear six spines in such a row.
