Type Locality: W Borneo, lower Kapuas River.
Vernacular Names: Striped Treeshrew.
Distribution: Borneo: Sabah, Sarawak ( Malaysia), Brunei, and Kalimantan ( Indonesia) except SE, at low to moderate elevations (below 1,000 m).
Conservation: CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Endemic to Borneo. United with T. tana in the genus Tana by Lyon (1913), but this arrangement is probably not natural (see Dene et al., 1978).
